When your DVD Player is covered with dust, then it becomes difficult for it to read the disc and you get no-disc error frequently. To solve this problem you can easily clean your DVD player with moist DVD player cleaner. However this doesn’t solve the problem sometimes so you might need to clean the lens of the DVD player as well. It’s also not quite complicated task but required some important steps to do it well.

Step 1
First make sure that your lens is actually the problem. Sometimes DVD Player doesn’t work when the disc are scratched or dirty. To ensure this, insert a disc that had been playing recently. If it doesn’t, then follow the second step.

Step 2
You can purchase a DVD Player lens cleaner disc to clean it. You can get this at any large department store nearby. Insert that disc and play it. Most of the time it solves the problem but sometimes you need to manually clean the lens when that lens cleaner disc fails.

Step 3
You need to remove the outer casing of the DVD player by unscrewing the screws that holds it. There are mostly two types of casings. One with front separated from back and another with top removed from the bottom. Remove either of them and the bottom or back piece will be exposed that holds the lens.

Step 4
Search for the lens. Lens is actually a glass with blue tint, so you can easily find it by shining a light on the components to watch for the reflection. Where the reflection occurs, there is your lens.

Step 5
Wipe the lens with cotton swab by moisturizing it with isopropyl alcohol. After wiping it for few seconds, dry it with the other end of the cotton swab.

Step 6
Let the lens to get dry and now replace the outer casing of the DVD player by screwing them back. Insert a well working disc to check if it has worked out. If it doesn’t then I think you might need to replace one.
